I picked up my favorite lunch of tuna and egg baguette and headed to the jardin Luxembourg along with much of the rest of Paris on a hot and sunny Sunday afternoon. I managed to snag two chairs and put my feet up in the shade of the chestnut trees to have my lunch, read and watch people from all walks of life strolling by.
After about two hours, I thought a change of scenery was in order, and to start making my way towards my apartment, I dragged my luggage across the gravel paths of Luxembourg, and through the busy streets over to my favorite little park behind Notre Dame cathedral with a lovely view of the flying buttresses holding up the cathedral. There was more shade here and fewer people. I settled on a bench and promptly nodded off. I noticed others laying down on the benches for a snooze, so when in Rome...
Feeling a bit more refreshed, but basically just hot and tired, it was finally time to meet the agent at my new home for the week. I found the place easily enough and thankfully Thomas was right on time. I am settled in a charming little one bedroom place situated on a quiet street right behind the George Pompidou Centre in the Marais district.
